Would really just like the government to end birthright citizenship in Canada. If parents aren’t Canadian through birth or gaining citizenship then any kids born here don’t get it either.
I’d say that if the parents get citizenship within 5 years of the child’s birth and can pass a comprehensive (spoken) language test in English or French at grade 7 level, then their kids can get citizenship as well.
Can I ask your reason for wanting this? (Preferably not just “their parents aren’t citizens, why should they be?”)
Racism, xenophobia, not understanding that immigration is part of what makes Canada Canada. Maybe all the foreigners should get off Native land and go back to Europe, Asia etc. No birthright citizenship after all.
Oh I knew that’s why they were saying it, I just wanted to see what their asinine justification for the stance would have been had they responded.
Them not saying anything at all says something in itself
Birthright without any conditions is dumb in this day and age.
