I can’t read the article because it’s behind a paywall, but the answer is no he should not. Can you even imagine the chaos that would ensue if people couldn’t get their bills or medications because they didn’t make their monthly mail delivery payment?

I’ve been hearing Libertarian types saying since the mid-90s that, now that many people have email, that the USPS should be disbanded and replaced with email + Fedex and UPS.
My reaction back then, even as someone sympathetic to a lot of Libertarian ideas then (I got better) and VERY, VERY up on all things digital was to ask them what the fuck they are even talking about.
It was crazy then, and it’s still crazy now.
