Summary

A U.S. judge granted a restraining order to stop a federal funding freeze despite the Trump administration rescinding it on Wednesday, following days of chaos and conflicting White House messaging.

The freeze had paused trillions in spending on social services and security programs, sparking legal challenges from Democratic attorneys general.

While the White House insists Trump’s executive orders on federal funding remain in effect, critics warn of continued efforts to restrict spending.

What a loser. Can’t figure out consequences of his actions. Seems like running government like a business is a bad idea.

Rescinds the EO to stop a court case. The freeze is still happening, just without making it super public.

A Trump administration official explained that Wednesday’s move was taken to end the confusion over Monday’s directive and end the federal injunction against it. The official said it would not halt the intended freezing of funding that conflicts with Trump’s executive orders.

And that’s also only on domestic funding, foreign assistance is still frozen.

Maybe he should have talked to DOGE before doing this. /s He basically just wasted hundreds of thousands of man hours because of all the projects that had to be put on hold and people scrambling and trying to figure out WTF they were going to do.
