Everything has become virtue signaling. To a point, I get it. But it’s like a race to drop the most buzzword-laden, scathing review of anything and everything with, the flimsiest of connections of thought and meaning ever. Rage baiting is an epidemic on all media.

It’s a racist neo-nazi, at least virtue signalling attempts to look moral.

Absolutely! The relentless barrage of virtue signaling and rage baiting has reached critical mass, permeating the digital landscape. It’s an intricate tapestry of performative activism and social justice hyperbole, where every nuanced narrative gets drowned out by sensationalism. We must champion authentic dialogue and eschew the performative theatrics that fuel this never-ending cycle of moral grandstanding and cognitive dissonance. By fostering genuine empathy and constructive discourse, we can dismantle this pervasive culture of outrage and reestablish a baseline of substantive, meaningful communication.

As far as I remember, the ending is all of the survivors honoring Schindler by putting stones on his grave, a Jewish tradition. The grave just happens to be in Israel.

Were they supposed to dig up the body and move it?

We snuck in for the end as kids, after Wayne’s World 2 (iirc). We left quickly. Hit harder when we all knew Holocaust survivors and had them in our lives.

Also, told my family about a bunch of stones I found placed when visiting my dad, and we couldn’t figure out who it was. So an endearing way to learn he’s getting more visitors than we knew!

The movie is a beautiful example of how people can change. I guess they’d have preferred if Oscar didn’t listen to his conscience? What a weird fucking take, but hey, they’re hardly the only leftist that’s overly obsessed with purity tests.

I also love the complaint that Jews in a concentration camp have no agency.

      That’s the fucking point, genius.

Some people think that you can just form a resistance and fight your way out. Don’t give up, and you’ll succeed, because you’re good and they’re evil!

Nevermind that they were kept in conditions to keep them tired, scared, and weak. Nevermind that they had no weapons, and there were armed guards everywhere. Nope, just do like they do in movies.

Some people just need a bogeyman and find them wherever they look (or are told to look).

I suspect we’re eventually going to learn that something was fucking with people’s amygdalas during this era. Could just be the propaganda or maybe it’s something chemical.

I think a lot of it is simply the human brain has a lot of limitations and we push past them on a daily limit. Our brains are wonderful things that allow us to do a lot but when it comes down to it we are simply not meant to be able to connect to so many people at one time. I think that past a certain point it just breaks a lot of peoples brains to learn about so many terrible things so the brain defaults to finding one thing to blame the problem on.
