Does this feel like actual advertising to anyone else?

With its hot gooey layers of cinnamon and dough draped in sensuous icing how could we all not crave Cinnabon™?

I still need to watch the last season. Cancelled Netflix though and haven’t set up a safe way to sail the seas yet. Haven’t missed it though so maybe I shouldn’t.

I was genuinely thinking that it seems like the kind of viral ad a smart (or terminally online) marketing department might come up with.

Once you learn the secret of making the Cinnabon jizz at home, you unlock eternal happiness.

You also gain a shit ton of weight, I’m still recovering.

Haha. Sounds like a bad idea. I’d probably gain too much weight. To be honest though, I’ve never actually had a Cinnabon (which I realized was autocorrected in my other post) bun. But regular cinnamon buns are great.

This was last posted on October 23, 2023 on the author’s Instagram account.

Posting this now after what happened in DC, in Philadelphia, and the Philippines is insensitive.

I know a person who had an Instagram account that passed recently. It’s a little insensitive for you to bring it up so close to their passing.

This isn’t dunking on anyone or harming anyone. It’s not punching down. It’s making fun of Cinnabon (and of marketing), not plane crashes. I think your comment is a bit over-the-top.

I would agree it’s not insensitive. However, if it’s making fun of advertising, why use the actual stylized brand name?

Because that’s what makes it funny.

Any real brand would work, but “Have a Let’s™ Brand Potato Chip” reminds you that it’s fake. By having a real brand you have that brief moment of confusion before realizing it must be fake, but it’s funny to think about the “what if”.

If it is real advertising, then kudos to Cinnabon for being early to the game. It will be like Branded Twitter accounts where Wendy’s capitalized early, it was funny, but now no one cares.

Thank you for being the only decent reply to my comment.

Thank you for the explanation and I agree with you.
