David Stein called Reptile Relocation Sydney last week after watching around six snakes slither into the mulch. He learned from an internet search that pregnant, known as gravid, red-belly blacks pile on top of each other before they give birth.

Reptile Relocation Sydney owner Cory Kerewaro said two of the captured adults gave birth to a total of 29 snakes in the bag while Cooper was still sifting through mulch catching more.

The final tally was five adults and 97 offspring caught, Kerewaro said.

102 snakes on 3.5 acres is a significant number of snakes, but we’re not talking about a Kalevala “plow a field of snakes” level of snakes here.

Rule 1 is that the the article title has to match what’s on the website.

So no, I can’t just change it.

        Hi HellsBelle,

Firstly, sorry for my overly snarky response. I know that the “don’t change the headline” rule was strictly enforced in many subreddits, but I wasn’t aware that this applied here as well. Is this a rule for this particular community or the entire Lemmy instance it’s on? Would you be kind enough to share a pointer to the rule list?
