Why YSK: If you ever need any of these things (eg you fell into hardship), just look for the nearest Sikh temple. While you’re there, please respect their culture and cover your hair while you’re in the prayer hall or in “langar” hall. A langar hall is where the food is served. If you like you can also volunteer to help in the kitchen and elsewhere.

Sikh’s are based, a genuinely lovely group they really do try to practice what they preach.

I agree. I only know a few Sikhs but they really are nice people.

Could you please add a “Why YSK:”? It’s rule #2. Thank you. :)

At this point, I’m wondering why you’re not a bot 😅 Keep up the good work! And the pleasant demeanor. 🤙🏼

It’s not much, but it’s honest work. :) I do intend on getting a working bot via the API.

        Thanks for the kind comment!

Just out of curiosity as someone from the USA, how would one cover their hair in practice after walking in off the street like a typical American in shorts/bluejeans and a tee shirt? Serious question.

A handkerchief or even a tissue would do, or a cap if you’re typically wearing them American style

Gurudwaras (Sikh temples) usually keep a bowl of big handkerchief-like cloths for people to tie on their heads. They look kind of like a bandana after tying.

That is a pathway that some consider…unnatural.
