Maybe not necessarily. Well, I mean they may also want to abuse and scam customers, but I think they mostly just want unilateral control of government with no checks or balances, and they may have a pretty accurate impression that running around indiscriminately destroying the place will demonstrate their dominance and intimidate the opposition. And then, once it’s done, they’ll be able to do whatever they want with the wreckage. The details of what’s getting destroyed may be accidental.
Removing checks and balances is mostly the scheme. They’re removing legal red tape they would otherwise have to navigate. And who hasn’t got caught up in red tape? Slashing it sounds like a grand idea to some.
Some of it’s bullshit, some is legitimate. But unless you’re in the know, most seems like bullshit. Conservatives will throw out the baby with the bathwater.
Just like lemmy and capitalism. Any system of governance or economy needs serious and enforceable guard rails against bad actors. This is a meme about removing guard rails.
What do we care anyways - we just want to make memes to rally the masses! And the masses just wants to vote - up or down, but not in elections.
