Image id an “Is this a pigeon” meme, a person labelled “MEN” looking at a butterfly labelled “WOMEN ARE EQUAL” saying “DOES THIS MEAN I CAN PUNCH YOU?”
Nothing says equality quite like violence huh
What this really means to me is men saying, don’t push for equality or I will physically hurt you. “Equal rights equal fights” is just an excuse to commit the violence you’ve always wanted to commit.
If that’s not the way the people who use these phrases feel, then they should rethink using them because imagine how it it would feel:
You’re a human, on the new intergalactic stage, a man. Every other race in the council gets a universal guaranteed income of 10000 spacebucks/ month
You get 9000 and it seems unfair.
Common sentiment is, oh you want intergalactic equality with all races? You’re saying you’re cool with getting telekenetically beaten up anytime right, RIGHT? Sure maybe you can’t compete telekenetically with the flasnorbs, but you want equal rights right?!
You should be happy to even be included, why should you get the same right to vote on the international polls as the flasnorbs when you can’t even fight back telekenetically? Your place is in your menial jobs, not jutting about the galaxy, know your place.
Obviously this is just a metaphor for how real woman are feeling in our real life.
Well said. I think it boils down to them assuming that if the roles were reversed we’d treat them the way they treat us, they see no other option because it’s all they know.
