It’s so slow and anything that happens is kinda stupid. Character motivations are all over the place.

Geladriel being genocidal mary sue is pretty great, honestly. Parents must be proud of the 13 year old who is writing one of the main character for such a huge show.

I agree, I have plenty of complaints about the first season and the second season, plenty of wasted storylines, but it has its moments.

Charlie Vickers as Sauron alone makes it worth watching. He’s been absolutely incredible. A few other actors have been great too. I love how it’s mostly all unknowns. The visual effects are really impressive as well. The story is…up and down. But it seems like they’re figuring it out. Most of the criticisms are totally fair. But I’m still glad the show exists. It’s light years better than The Hobbit trilogy at least.

Heard so much crap about this show, then finally gave it a chance and was pleasantly surprised. The pacing is definitely not for the TikTok-brains of the world, but the overall story is great.

      I don’t think it’s solely a matter of having a “TikTok-brain”.

I don’t use Tik-Tok (never have) and I did not like The Rings of Power. I would have much preferred if they adapted the main story in The Silmarillion; Quenta Silmarillion. Instead they came up with a generic “made for streaming with minimal inspiration from a literary work for marketing purposes” concept.

I dunno Silmarillion was one of the driest, most awful books I’ve ever read. If i wasn’t such a huge Tolkien fan I never would have finished it.

Shows great, fuck the armchair critics. If you don’t enjoy it, quit watching it. There are always people saying things like, “I hate the show so much, the 15th episode was the worst of them all!” Go watch something you enjoy if it’s that bad people.

I quit after the first episode when I realized it’s not really based on Tolkien’s work and it wasn’t going to be a novel and unique concept.

I agree The Silmarillion is rather dry and somewhat convoluted. But the main story offers a lot of potential for epic story telling. Setting the story in Numenor could also offer a lot of potential.

They don’t have the rights to The Silmarillion. They’re basing everything off the appendencies.
