I feel hypocritical cause my dog pretty much slept on my chest while the work got done. If your dog is doing more than that then yea leave that shit at home.

That being said my lil Frank Zappa was better than most coworkers.

Amazon allows and even encourages dogs. They aren’t allowed in meeting rooms or other shared spaces like the kitchen or cafe. I bring my girl in 4 days a week. She stays tethered to my desk, but maybe I’ll get a dog gate for my whole aisle if everyone is fine with it since everyone on my team likes her.

Edit: cool, so, lemmy is anti dog. I live in a super dog friendly city, so it makes sense for me. It may not make sense for y’all. No worries. :)

If you go to a misdirected Amazon page they talk about dogs of Amazon but I never thought much about it until this dudes comment.

I’m sure. They had us register our dogs to make sure they’re vaccinated and in good standing. There’s probably about a dozen dogs on our floor and more in our building. It’s Seattle, so there’s more dogs than kids, and dogs are allowed inside a lot of breweries/restaurants if they’re well behaved. As I write this, I’m at a brewery with 3 dogs inside (no idea how many are outside).

Every time I see this statement, my first reaction is to feel solidarity, “yeah!” Then I think about all those emails I don’t read and never respond to… 😅

I respond to most emails that clearly define a problem and clearly define what I must do.

If the email is missing one of those, I’ll reach out via slack and ask.

If the email is missing both, I have a form reply asking them to create a ticket.

Yeah I stopped checking my work emails entirely. At first I tried setting up filters so I could know which ones to ignore them I realized the answer was “literally all of them” so I don’t bother anymore

Ah, I see you and I have made those special kinds of filters. 🙃

        “I sent you an email!”

“Oh, erm, it’s buried among all the others. Can you just send me a team’s message with the link. Mkay thanks.”

And this entire work day could’ve been more focused and less interrupted (by meetings) than at home.
