I think this may be due to the fact that YouTube Music is included in the YouTube Premium account. As a long-time Google Play Music user, YouTube Music was a big step backwards. Horrible caching, terrible shuffle/randomization, YouTube videos suddenly popping up in your music playlist… The list goes on and on.

It’s gotten better, but I still don’t think it’s back to the standard GPM was, and they’ve had how many years now?

    SoundCloud baybeeee

I don’t think anything can top it for me. I carefully curated my follows over the past decade+ and I get exposed to new artists constantly. It’s great.

Only downside is that it doesn’t have a lot of big artists. Oh well.

I have both. I like YT Music for its radio stations. Great algorithm compared to Apple Music.

Still, I find that a lot of music I listen to is only on either Apple or YT. Or it’s poor quality on one and good on the other. Wish I didn’t have to have both.

I’m all in on YT except I do miss the days of Google Play Music. YT Music just is still missing a ton of basic features. One day…

I kinda like Spotify. Just terrible ux changes, but still good community and lots of content on there.

As a streaming service, yt music is mediocre.

As a local file media player, it’s absolute trash.

I’m fully migrated to using Poweramp as my media player and Spotify for streaming and finding new music.

I miss Google music, but at least it’s death has enlightened me to spotify’s discover weekly. This is the first real new music I’ve added to my library in years
