A November report from the Federal Salary Council, which advises on government pay, found that federal salaries were one-fourth lower than those in the private sector.

People take government jobs because the benefits are pretty good and the job security is second to none. Take that away and the workers will leave the market and never come back. DOGE is permanently disabling the organs of the federal government in real time in ways that are not possible to repair.

I think part of their plan is to get rid of federal workers, let private industry replace government services, and lower private wages with the flood of federal works.

It will make the country worse off. It will make the rich richer.

yup. its one of those things were people do it for reasons beyond money. Its not hard to find something that pays higher in the private sector for the lower levels. Not sure about the higher levels but if they get something with similar pay it will likely be a whole lot less stressful.

Good. Smaller government is a good thing.

I take it you don’t know much of what the federal government actually does or how many of those things benefit you both directly and indirectly.

I won’t argue that the federal government is anywhere close to as efficient as it could be, or that there aren’t bad/lazy workers. But to just make a sweeping generalization shows real ignorance to why so much of these services are truly critical to why the US has been a world power, with a secure, comfortable populace compared to what it will be if those services are cut.
