Just got a T1000-E two weeks ago to EDC and it’s awesome. It’s credit card size and fits in pocketwatch/zippo pocket on jeans perfectly.

It has good battery life, is water resistant, has GPS and temp sensors built in, and is surprisingly good at transmission/reception, all with no assembly required.

What’s the best way to get into this? I’ve watched a few youtube videos a while back and it seemed interesting. I couldn’t tell if the Youtube visits were promotions or not though.

Station G2, tdeck, rak boards, even pi hats. Lots of options depending on what you want to do.

Thanks, I’ll start there. Already have a raspberry pi so might go the hat route.

So far the 2.6.0 MUI feels much more stable than 2.5.3 did on my T-Deck. A friend just got a T-Echo as his first node so I’ll have to see how the new eink interface performs at some point.

I flashed my T1000E early this morning via the GitHub actions and so far so good. I’m almost certain I am the only one in my area running it though so at least currently I don’t get the benefits of the next hop messaging. One thing I have noticed though is that you don’t know what firmware the other person is running on their device. The only way to possibly find that out is through the mesh map, online MQTT map.
