A Moscow court fined Apple 400,000 roubles ($4,274) on Thursday for not deleting “inaccurate” content about what Russia calls a “special military operation” in Ukraine on apps and podcasts, Russian news agencies reported.

They’re a nation state, asking for like… 4 br college apt rent. From a trillion dollar company.

That’s like me asking you for a spoonful of white rice from your Asian takeout order for defamation.

Even if it is a minute amount of money, I’d hope they tell them to stuff it. Or at least drag it through so many appeals to make the issue meaningless

Like. I’m pretty sure they can find that in the cushions of Tim Cook’s couch.

I dunno. That’s like one whole months bill for the average Apple user… After this gets dragged through the small claims court system for at least the next decade, it will completely piss off their external legal teams. Their retainer fee could skyrocket 0.00000001%.

      Yep. Apple is boned.

Just ignore it. What are they gonna do?

They’re probably just desperate for money.

$4k is not so much money for government. These courts mostly about a message that there is no law in Russia anymore.

Just pull the plug on Russia.

They should, any company still doing business with Russia is culpable for their atrocities.

The simple answer is everyone in the works boycotts those who still want to maintain relations with Russia.

Sure it might be hard, but what’s harder is defending your own country from a war of aggression.
