What’s the difference between trump and a Russian prostitute?

The Russian prostitute is honest about what s(he) does for money.

I’m seeing this right after seeing Hegseth renamed Fort Moore, (innovator of modern Air Assault Infantry), with a random corporal who happened to have the last name Benning.

    These fucks have no honor.

That’s straying pretty close to soldier worship for my tastes

Edit: oh I’m sorry are trans soldiers not involved in the war machine, did I miss a memo?

Edit 2 electric boogaloo oh we’re IN IT NOW, everyone crack your knuckles and defend the military industrial complex when the guy in charge has a red tie?

Trans people are people and deserve every right they’ve earned tenfold but I’m not gonna pretend the US Military is a good thing lol

Soldiers are not the military-industrial complex and acting like they are only demonstrates that you don’t don’t actually understand the term at all, you just repeat it as a kind of shibboleth to prove your leftist credentials.

The military-industrial complex is a cozy relationship between the government, the military, and companies that supply weaponry. Arms manufacturers like war because it makes their profits go up, so they use this relationship to push for more wars, backing hawkish candidates and lobbying for more military spending and aggressive posturing.

Now, ask yourself this really simple question; “What happens to soldiers in a war?”

Soldiers are not beneficiaries of the military-industrial complex, they are victims of it. For a soldier, world peace is the best possible scenario. For an arms company, it’s the end of their business.

      Stop confusing the two.

Well no shit but I still have zero desire to celebrate soldiers.

I watched the Gulf War and it’s repercussions. I watched a post-9/11 America drum the war machine. And frankly, I don’t give a fuck anymore. You signed up for war? Sorry about your luck.

Yeah it sucks the machine sucked you up, but there you are, shooting guns. I don’t care, fuck em. Join the military, lose a tiny bit of my respect.

soldiers are victims of the military industrial complex but they’re also complicit in its crimes. without soldiers, the US army would have no power

And by that logic every employee of every company ever is complicit in the crimes of capitalism. In an average year US insurance companies kill a lot more people than the US military, but we don’t blame the average employee for that. If whoever shot Brian Thompson had gunned down some random call centre worker no one would be praising them.

Its awful how predatory the US military is. They rely on lack of social services to fill their ranks, so for many its the only real way out of a bad situation (say, being LGBTQ+ in bumfuck nowhere in a red state, or poor literally anywhere), and offering benefits in exchange for trauma.

Well, that and the mindless nationalism and from-birth propaganda.

We need a military right up until the anarcho-marxist dream is realized. What it does is up to voters.

I’ve had a vocal problem with our war machine for decades now, a few angry democrats on here won’t stop that :)
