What they really ought to do is increase the legal minimum wage to match up with the rate of inflation. But no, there was no mention of that whatsoever…

Increasing the minimum wage would damage corporate profits. I don’t think you will see this happening under Trump.

What I can see happening under Trump is abolishing minimum wage altogether. That would totally fit his and his parties agenda.

That’s a disturbing thought, but given the state of the current shitshow, that sadly sounds about right.

Don’t give them any ideas though…

They probably have that idea already, anyway.

I wonder if that would drive people out of Red States and into Blue States that have an actual economy. Though, I guess if that happens we’d probably see the reinstating of Child Labour…

Trump and Elon would probably kill minimum wage at federal level to put an end to the discussion.

And reinstating child labour will just extend the target population to drive the price of work down, so you can expect that, too.

While you are at it, wave goodbye to unions, too. Who needs pesky workers rights?

You’re right, the federal minimum wage hasn’t increased in 15 years.

      $7.50

That’s still the baseline minimum wage for 20 of our States. Why isn’t that a more talked about conversation?
