From Don Wiggans

I was watching this Boreal Owl snoozing in the sun, when all of a sudden a gang of crows flew overhead cawing. The Boreal Owl went into what they call the Tall Thin position. It is an upright stance that owls use to camouflage themselves from threats. In this position, owls compress their feathers and may stand close to a tree trunk. The crows kept qoing and the owl went back to sleep.
