New Jersey remains without a first round pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.
As it stands, New Jersey has six picks, one in each round except for the first. During his end-of-season media availability, Devils’ general manager Tom Fitzgerald said, “We don’t have a first-round pick. That doesn’t mean we won’t get one.”

Shar will be moved before or at the draft. Not for a first of course.
What do you think he can be traded for?
It’s been reported his name has been hot in trade talks. I’m guessing a hockey trade but if not maybe a 3rd at best.
I don’t know about that, I don’t think Fitz would trade yegor just for the sake of a trade. In my mind, it would either be apart of a bigger deal or trade a pick or medium prospect to bring it up to a second.
Walsh for example needs a contract this summer and there has been any info or rumors one way or the other about a trade or extension. So he could reasonably go in a draft trade for a higher pick
That’s a good possibility. An early 2nd would be fantastic
I’d like to think that remark from Fitz was to put pressure on Bratt’s agent, but I don’t really know anything.
I expect to see some of the later round picks in a few years, our whole scouting department seems killer.
I think it was a genuine reflection of their openness to make a deal that included a first round pick.
