Agreed! I’ve remembered to check it a a couple times before starting things, and sometimes it’s useful stuff, sometimes there’s not even a page for the game, other times it might look like the tips were just from one person with little editing/revision. But the idea behind it is spot on.
Yeah, I looked up the page for Disco Elysium as a test and found it to be exactly as you described: a mix of useful tips, slightly over-prescriptive borderline spoilers, certain unnecessary tips - and all of it most certainly by a single user.
Still, the thought is coming from the right place and there are definitely many games that could benefit from this kind of briefing if done right.
The entry for Outer Wilds should just read “nothing. Don’t try to learn anything about this game before playing”.
