Christian nationalism is the belief that America should be defined by Christianity, and that the government should take active steps to keep it that way.

What about the “separation of church and state”?

    I really appreciate this! If there is one thing that scares me most about the trajectory of this country, it is christian nationalism. Glad to see local religious leaders denouncing it.

    Sad thing is, this appears to be growing well enough that they are likely to be somewhat successful. And once they are, we will see the kind of religious violence that our immigrants left their home countries to escape, and that includes the earliest “native” ones, who fled the various Wars of Religion in Europe as far back as the early colonial period.

    At least we still have a Republic, which significantly reduces the chance that the State actively participating in this violence due to random chance in succession.
