A “peace conference” where the other side wasn’t even invited.

The US has strong-armed Ukraine into agreeing to a 30 day ceasefire with the US. Again, Russia wasn’t involved in the slightest.

Whatever this is, it’s not a peace negotiation.

“Putin will now be forced to decide whether to conclude a temporary ceasefire or risk souring relations with the White House under the new Trump administration.”

Honestly wonder if they’d care at all. I really hope there can at least be a breather for a minute, even if it is short lived.

They don’t, US already put every possible sanctions on Russia and the only worsening of relation possible is if US start to shoot. And since that won’t happen, it’s empty words. Hell, they didn’t even invited one side of the war for the ceasefire meeting, so who is even ceasing fire there with who? US and Ukraine? This is utterly nonsensical.

Shoot… this means 29 days to Russia rolling right through Ukraine, doesn’t it?

Probably totally unrelated, but I find it interesting that Canada suddenly lifts the electricity surcharge right when the US suddenly decides to support Ukraine again.

Like I said, most likely totally unrelated, but the timing is a bit suspect. That surcharge of 25% would have netted Ontario something like 400K a day from the US. Not economy ending, however I can imagine a lot of residents and business owners in the affected states would be mega unhappy about it.

Meanwhile Russia seems to have staged a fake Ukrainian drone attack in Moscow.
