Since the dawn of gaming I always picked the more aesthetic choice, which mostly is the female choice. Never cared about the “u play woman? U gay!” Idiots…

I never understood how me preferring to look at a female figure while playing a game was ever something to question…

For me it’s not even about gender identity or role playing. If I’m going to spend 200 hours in a 3rd person RPG looking at a character’s ass, that ass had better be female.

Skyrim can be played as either, though I personally do prefer 1st person in the case of Skyrim. I specifically said ‘3rd person RPG’ because the point I was making wasn’t limited to just Skyrim, and anything played 3rd person is obviously where it’s important to my experience of, ah… the game. Yes, totally of the game.

Didn’t remember that about Skyrim, thanks.

Listen to “lady of the dark” from Sabaton, you’ll automatically create a woman character named Milunka whatever gender you are.

You’ll be fully immersed and you’ll feel Serbian even if you’re from another country !

“Everyone that has ever even thought about roleplaying as a different gender is secretly closeted trans” is one of my least favorite takes of all time.

Gender is bullshit! Try shit! It’s a perfectly healthy and normal thing everyone should be comfortable with, don’t make it into a thing.

Yeah, this sort of shit has gotten under my skin since identity stuff started exploding into public discourse.

If gender is a construct, why the fuck are we still using traditionally masculine and feminine actions/interests to prescribe identity? What gives anyone the right to prescribe someone else’s identity?
