Funny how a little thing like trying to take over a neighboring country after illegally occupying a chunk of their territory for nearly a decade can alter the trajectory of peoples’ lives.

Huh, I thought there are no queer-rights in current Ukraine?

Ukraine is hardly a beacon of western social liberal democracy.

But it’s also FAR from Russia levels of shit

Did you really think gay people in Ukraine get stoned or something? Whatever, it isn’t the most LGBT-friendly country ever

Sudden and strong moments of injustice have historically bolstered rights for minorities. Stonewall paved the way for the freedoms we have in the US as LGBTQ people today. I wager a more unified and welcoming Ukraine will come from this shared moment of terrible hardship.

I understand spreading awareness or whatever in social media, but people seriously need to stop posting selfies in uniform in an active warzone. You’d be surprised what kind of into can be gained from it. There’s stories of Russian soldiers doing the same and getting blown up. Everybody says “I’m glad they’re so stupid, keep posting pictures, idiots!!!”

But when Ukrainian soldiers do it? Nothing.

I mean, man might’ve been far away from his posting at the time of the selfie, and there’s nothing that suggests it was immediately uploaded.
