Just brought home a baby boxer/shepherd pup and want to get him used to other people and dogs. What are some good public places or dog-friendly spots in the area? I’m located near Ohio City. I checked out Lucas’s Bakery yesterday and they were awesome!

Highly recommend taking your puppy to a small dog (i.e. 25 pounds or less) dog park. They will be much closer in size, and because it’s full of well socialized dogs, your puppy can learn how to behave in a safe space.

Great advice, thanks! Any dog park recommendations?

It’s a bit out of the way but there’s a dog park in Medina that’s huge. Even the small dog section is an acre with trails and lots of shade trees

Oh sorry. I don’t live there, it was just general advice. I’m sure there are a few in your area, I just suggest finding one with a specific small dog park section that’s separate from the big dogs.

For playing, taps & tails in Tremont is a dog park and bar in one, so a good place to spend an afternoon. For just general interaction, I’d suggest just some busier walking trails (e.g. Edgewater) or dog friendly patios (Brewdog / Luxe).

These are more costly, but my suggestions to add are doggy daycare and puppy training classes.

Other than that, find a friend or family member with a dog and hang out.
