The fact that the new Switch 2 game is pvp focused is nice in a way. Makes the fact I am not buying one easier.
Wtf did i just read? The author here admits to not caring and therefore not paying attention to what he was supposed to be “reporting” on. Video game “journalists” continue to amaze me.
Rock Paper Shotgun went downhill a long time ago. The original was an opinionated humor column about video games founded by a few talented writers. It was snarky and sarcastic, but it was all in good fun. The owners left more than a decade ago, it was sold to one of the media conglomerates that hoovered up a bunch of games journalism sites, and RPS even operated without an editorial staff for a while (not sure if that’s still the case as I stopped being an active reader around this time).
The new guys try to ape the sarcasm and style of the old stuff, but it comes across as disinterested at best to downright mean-spirited a lot of the time. The useless clickbait titles don’t help either. I’m sometimes tempted to filter out the site so I don’t have to see what it’s become.
