I have only been fostering for 2 seasons. I’ve fostered a total of 16 kittens and lost 3. First loss was medical. Second was lost to fading. Third was starving for too long before he was found.

I love fostering. I love feeding and caring and worrying over these babies. I specifically foster babies without a mom when they still need milk. I get to watch this cute little animal develop its personality. And see it off to another loving home. I don’t work, so I can dedicate all my time to it.

How about anyone else?

Sounds like you’re doing good work :)

I fostered four kittens when I was a kid after their pregnant mom followed me home. We gave three away and kept one around, but he went missing after he grew up. Hope that he just got snatched away by someone because he was really charming, even to strangers. The mom still lives with my parents and I have a strong bond with her. Unfortunately no pets are allowed in my apartment so I gotta live without cats for now :/

I did that once. Got a turtle anyway. Can’t live without pets and people charge too much for them.

I never met anyone who had a turtle as pet. What’s it like? Is it difficult to provide it with an environment where it can live healthily?

It’s fun to watch them run around. You can take them outside and watch them dig little holes and eat grass. It can be difficult to keep the environment the right temperature sometimes and if you stop their hibernation cycle you have to take extra care of them. It’s been a long time since I had that turtle. Unfortunately I had to rely on someone else to take care of him for a week while I was gone and they did something wrong. No idea what, but he died not long after I came back. My kids loved that turtle.
