One in… hopefully the Kuch can keep it as is.
I have quite a bit of faith in our ability to put up more runs than Cleveland without Josh Naylor and to be able to cover those IPs because of Cleveland’s lack of offence 😎
It’s gonna be a late set of runs again. Once their bullpen kicks in, these singles would turn into RBI’s
Ha! I hope you’re right. The lack of runs going into the 8th does have me a little concerned… What about Kikuchi though?! 7 IP, 1 ER - yeah!
yep the Kuch did well! But man, that was not a good fate… he pitched his heart out, we just couldn’t score. What a bunk game
Frustrating game, hate these tight losses where nothing quite worked
This team needs to be able to deliver the timely hit or at least the long pop fly to move runners… the 9th inning Varsho did all he could to make it happen, 2nd base 0 outs and couldn’t get him home. It sucks to lose this way, they had great luck to go through and not allow a run after the hits the Jays produced.
Ugh, shut out. Oh well. I didn’t see it coming. It’ll make the rest of the series more interesting - yeah, that’s the line. See you Lemmies tomorrow!
I’m so glad we get to see José Ramírez this series, which I think is thanks to him appealing his 3-game suspension. Elite hitter, and, as my late gran would say, “he’s a character” :P. Blair & Barker had a Guardians radio person/announcer on recently and he probably has some homerism here, but he said that Ramírez getting in Anderson’s face (and his finger pointing may be my favourite part of that whole scuffle) was in part to stand up for others. The announcer said that young, ‘nobody’ (I’m paraphrasing) Guardian players had been getting bullied by Anderson, who was apparently slapping players with his glove at 2nd more forcefully than he needed to, and José was standing up for them. At the time, I felt convinced José was acting nobly. Typing it out, it’s sounding kinda line fanfic. Who knows.
Did anyone watch the Home Run Derby this year and remember who the player was in the 1st round who glaringly had no posse at all during their break, and Loures Gurriel and another player finally came over to chill with them, because it was pretty glaring. Was it Tim Anderson?
Shoutout to DeJong getting the flyout to open the inning - we avoided the NOBLETIGER /s
