I saw an advertisement for IONIQ 5 EV having augmented reality HUDs, so I looked up this video. Seems like its working.
Augmented Reality HUDs have to be one of the dumbest things I want in my next car.
Looks exactly like the video in real life. I first tried the HUD while test driving a BMW I4 and it instantly became a must have feature to me.
I’ve been demoing various HUDs but I haven’t tried an augmented-reality HUD yet.
I think I’d personally want a HUD, while augmented-reality is really luxurious, I probably don’t need that. I’ll probably need to take a test-drive to see what its like in person though, cause these videos make it seem extremely futuristic.
The AR is cool but I could live without it. I do like how it has a dot under the car you’re following in active cruise though, so you can easily see if the self driving function can detect the lead car properly or if you might need to intervene.
