Hear me out. The beginning of game of thrones, everyone raved about. Then they ran out of source material, and it went down hill from there. 3BP is a completed series, so I’m hopeful yet
It’s not just they ran out of source material, it’s that the stuff they made up suggested they didn’t really understand the source material in the first place; GoT was great in the early seasons despite its showrunners, not because of them. The source material was the only thing keeping it together, and once they lost that they had nothing.
Honestly, never saw an episode of game of thrones, so I’m just going off of what I’ve heard from others.

Haha yeah, that’s what everyone tells me to do. I was considering reading the books before trying the show, but I have a feeling I’ll just be more disappointed in the show if I do.
They ran out of source material but also rushed to kill off the series so that they could go work on (and quickly be fired from) Star Wars.
If Dumb and Dumber are involved with it, I don’t want anything to do with that.

Probably the first season of Stranger Things.
The Sandman is a good show, but to be fair it builds on amazing existing stories.

I loved this book series. I hope they don’t softball on the Chinese cultural revolution parts.
I mean like… 3bp is a completed series, the whole arc is done and can be planned out from the beginning. GoT only sucked after they ran out of source material and decided “fuck it, let’s blow this shit up.”

I’m nervous about these yahoos writing and producing but I like 3BP so I’m gonna at least watch a couple of episodes. That having been said: Tencent has a really great, faithful adaptation that you can watch on Prime or YT (YT also has all 30 eps for free)
