Hey fellow enbies!

Does anyone here have experience with binders? Specifically, do they permanently alter the shape of your chest? I like my naked body and view is as gender neutral, but I’d like to be READ as more neutral while wearing clothes sometimes. So I want to bind in a way that won’t alter how my naked body looks. What’s your experience with that?

Thanks!

I’ve been wearing g2bc’s on/off for about 7 years, and (unfortunately for me, haha) it does not alter the shape of my chest/body at all.

Oh btw how is it, sensory wise, compared to a sports bra? I sometimes can’t handle tight clothing.

They can feel tighter. If you’re not too worried about being as flat as possible, then you can get a size larger than what’s recommended for your dimensions. Racerback-style ones will also feel less tight generally.

For me it’s tighter than a sports bra, unfortunately!

If you have the means, I definitely suggest getting one your size and another one that’s one size bigger (e.g., getting one L and one XL). That way, you have an option depending what you want to do that day and wear the one that’s more appropriate for the day. For example, I use my size when I’m just going out to the mall or for a walk, but I use the bigger one when I’m going to a crowded concert or doing some light exercise.

So I’m transfem and have never used binders, but from what I understand wearing ones that are too tight for extended periods of time can hurt your breast tissue. So long as you get ones that fit you properly you are likely good to go?

Don’t quote me on this. Hope you can find some good answers

From my experiences as a trans femme that likes binding sometimes, I’m 99% sure this is the case. As long as you follow gc2b’s (or another reputable brand’s) size guide then you should be golden.

Honestly, I find changing myself to fit the ideas of society kind of against the idea of rejecting society’s concepts of gender within itself.

But, my perception of being non-binary is that I’m against changing who I am to fit one of the multi-choice answers society gives on the “how should we see you?” question. I love me and, if I were the only person on earth, there’d never have been cause for change. Binding would not be an idea ever thought of, nor non-binary for that matter, it’d just be that state by default.

Not really the answer you’re after, and I’m sure many non-binary people see it different, but for me the point is to reject conforming to the ideas of others; just be free from it all. If I change who I am, the root reason for that comes from the ideas, stereotypes, and rules of the artificial binary social concept. You can be a part of that if you need, but don’t let it change you ❤️

Now, off to go provide unhelpful responses elsewhere. Good day!

No no you’re onto sth haha. I’m like this in theory, and, most days, in practice as well. It’s also why I’m never transitioning medically Sometimes I also present 100% fem and enjoy it. But then there’s those days when I’m just so tired of being misgendered that I want a lil break from it, if that makes sense.

That said, a trans person isn’t on any way lesser if they do get euphoria/ less dysphoria if they choose to look a way that’s generally associated with the gender they are.
