So I brought, or well called a stray cat I was feeding to my door so my cat sees her; my cat started walking towards the stray cat with her tail up while the cat was staring with it’s tail slowly waving
I closed the door since it seemed suspicious but were they about to fight?

    If her tail was up, it seems like she might be friendly to the other cat, but generally, tail waving is not a good sign for cats (specifics may vary). The stray’s probably wary of her, even if she is acting friendly.

    If there’s a door between them, you could let them get close to each other, and see how they interact, if it goes poorly, then you can separate them by closing the door.
