The updates will be reflected in “the PlayStation 5 version and beyond”
One thing that really grinds my gears is when a game adds controller support to launch on consoles, but never updated the PC version with the same controls.
Not the case here… though some important changes will be in the PS5 version first. But it’s extremely common.
I love the Darkest Dungeon and Darkest Dungeon 2, BUT there was great controller support for the DD1, but DD2 released with out controller support…What?! The devs said they heard us in the forums and will work on adding controller support for DD2.
I think today all PC games should come with the option to use the controller.
Update on Darkest Dungeon 2 from Red Hook Aug. 3, 2023
First, we are happy to announce that this update will contain both gamepad and Steam Deck support. These features have been frequently requested since launch, and we’re happy to announce they will soon be in your hands. You can also expect the following content:
I was hoping for a way for vertical moves with a controller–like fly straight up 20ft. But I don’t think it is in the game at all, not even with mouse and keyboard. Anyone know?
Best I can tell “fly” is simply “hover” and "no need to climb the ladder.
Looks like the PS5 launch will look even better than the PC.
Really? That’s great news! I’m looking for this game to help keep me in touch with my buddy who moves away at the end of the month. Neither of us has a good enough pc, but we both have a ps5.
The game runs very well on PC. Mine is pretty old at this point, but I’ve been waiting for GPU prices to drop (which I’m starting to doubt will ever happen). It runs fine without tweaking settings. There was one point where it was sitting around 45fps, but most of it is 60+. 45 is still fine if it were always there though, because it’s a top down RPG, not a first person game.
Which is exciting cause I’ll play it then
