A promotional video by Google and leaked by X user EZ shows off a new feature called “Audio Magic Eraser”. The feature, which looks to be exclusive to the Google Pixel 8, would allow to isolate different sounds in a video and offer the possibility to remove some of them.

I hope it lets us specify which sounds to remove. This looks great.
In the video it does seem to list them, you can for instance see that it identified “noise” and “people”.
I missed the one that said people. That’s exciting!
Interesting take on the algorithms that are undoubtedly already in place for digital imaging software, just in audio form. Very cool.
