Main Topic:

Jeffrey Sachs discusses the dangerous escalation of the Ukraine/Russia conflict and the forces pushing for war with Iran, focusing on the historical context and the role of the “American deep state.”

Key Points:

  • Ukraine War Origins: The war could have been avoided and ended earlier through negotiation. The US, however, pushed Ukraine to keep fighting, leading to immense losses for Ukraine.
  • US Deep State’s Agenda: The US’s primary goal is to weaken Russia, stemming from a long-term strategy of maintaining global dominance (primacy/hegemony). This echoes historical patterns, like Britain’s 19th-century Russophobia.
  • NATO Expansion: NATO expansion eastward, despite prior assurances, is a key driver of the conflict. Inviting Ukraine and Georgia into NATO was a deliberate encirclement strategy.
  • US Involvement in Ukraine Coup: The US was involved in the 2014 coup that overthrew President Yanukovych, who opposed NATO expansion.
  • Failed Negotiations: A peace agreement was nearly reached in March/April 2022, but the US intervened, urging Ukraine to continue fighting.
  • Trump’s Efforts and Obstacles: Trump wants to end the war, understanding it’s detrimental to US interests. However, he faces strong opposition from the “deep state,” European allies, and the Ukrainian government.
  • Reckless Escalation: Recent Ukrainian attacks inside Russia, potentially without White House knowledge, are dangerously escalatory and risk nuclear war.
  • Lack of Democratic Control: US foreign policy is often undemocratic, with the “deep state” operating with little accountability.

Highlights:

  • Sachs emphasizes the historical parallels between current US-Russia relations and 19th-century British Russophobia, arguing that great powers often oppose each other simply because of their size and influence.
  • He criticizes the “deep state” for prioritizing US dominance over peaceful resolutions and for perpetuating a cycle of conflict.
  • He expresses concern over the lack of civilian control over the CIA and the potential for reckless actions that could lead to nuclear war.
  • He points out the tragic consequences of the war for Ukraine, with immense casualties and destruction.
  • He highlights Trump’s efforts to bring about peace but acknowledges the powerful forces working against him.

About Channel:

We’re building an alternative to legacy media

News coverage in the West has become a tool of repression and control. Reporters no longer reveal essential information to the public; they work to hide it. Journalists act as censors on behalf of entrenched power. They have contempt for the public. They hate the truth.

Democracy can’t function in a society like this. Voters can’t know what they’re voting for. People do understand they’re being manipulated, and they resent it. The population becomes angry and paranoid. Things fall apart.

There’s only one solution to a propaganda spiral like the one we’re living through, and it’s telling the truth about the things that matter — clearly and without fear. That’s our job. We plan to do it every day, no matter what.

We are the sworn enemies of lying, pomposity, smugness, and groupthink. We believe the corporate media is broken beyond repair, and the only way forward is to build something better.[1]

Thank you for informing us of your high disdain for Tucker Carlson instead of stating what ideas you agree or disagree with him on in this interview with Professor Jeffrey Sachs.

      All is well, peace.

Tucker Carlson is well-known for conveying far-right positions, Jeff Sachs is, among others, a supporter of China, denying the genocide in Xinjiang.

          Ah, okay.

          I understand a bit more.

Political tribalism and believing Western pro-war propaganda so we can justify going to war with China.

FYI: The government and politicians, as well as other lackeys of the oligarchs, are pushing to go to war with Iran as well.

More profit-driven forever wars, where the working class is mass murdered so the oligarchs can acquire more important resources.

Where do you hear and read this information?

Can you share the names of journalists, commentators, and streamers who explain the “far-right” positions that China holds?

It appears to be Western propaganda aimed at justifying a war with China.

Anyway, if the United States interferes again with other countries, we will make the situation significantly worse than it currently is.

We are not the good guys. We have mass murdered millions of people all around the world. Just looking at the bombing of civilians in the Middle East and the lies told should make you question western propaganda.

              Thank you for your response!
