I was afraid that I wouldn’t like it when I bought it two days ago. Not because of quality issues or bugs. Just that I have kinda stopped playing fantasy games some time ago. It’s not all that appealing to me and even though I bought Divinity 2, I played 2-3 hours and realized it’s not for me.

BG3 is great, so much polish and it’s packed with features, can’t wait to fire it up again. Seeing the quality they manage to push out, I hope they will get hired to remake Fallout 1 and 2 in their style. That would be 🤯

It’s a damn good game, bg3. I’ve never played disco Elysium, I’ve heard it’s great but there’s not really any combat. I just wish some of the other DND style CRPGs got the same love as bg3. The Pathfinder games are awesome and outside of bg3, solasta is probably as close as you can get to DND 5e. It really is an amazing time to be a CRPG fan.

I was actually in the middle of my first playthrough of Disco Elysian when BG3 came out. I wasn’t planning on buying it until I saw the crazy positive reaction. I had been struggling a bit with Disco, but BG3 grabbed me immediately and I’ve been playing it a ton, and haven’t had any interest in putting it down to go back to Disco. At least for me, I can appreciate that Disco is good but it doesn’t get anywhere near they same level of interest and engagement from me. But fantasy is just my bag, so that’s a big part of it.

If you like fantasy, there are two things you should look into when you pick up Disco Elysium again:

      • try to find and connect information about the “pale”

      • progress the main story to the end

The game keeps some of its most interesting ideas and elements either until the end, or well enough hidden that it’s not necessarily obvious. As much fun as I’ve had with BG3 so far, nothing has stuck with me as much as those two things - though I’m only getting to chapter 2 :)

Thanks! I’ll keep this in mind when I go back to it.
