Scientists in France have identified a new blood type. This blood type is called 'Gwada negative'. It is found in a 68-year-old woman from Guadeloupe. Her blood reacted to all known donor types. Genetic sequencing revealed a unique mutation. She can only receive her own blood. Researchers are searching for others with this rare blood type in the Caribbean.

    That’s pretty dumb, considering all the others are sensible 1-2 letters.

      There are about 47 known blood types, and they are not all just 1-2 letters.
