Figured I’d try to get some discussion going. Maybe start a new one of these every few day for different artists. Seems like a good way to hear some songs maybe I don’t know from artists with deep discographies, or hear the best stuff from artists I might not fuck with normally

Let’s do Lil Wayne first! Share your favorite Lil Wayne songs he has a million of them. Radio singles, deep cuts, mix tape, album, whatever. Hell, if it is a dope enough feature share that too.

Today I’m really digging those mastered STREETRUNNER releases so I’ll say

    Trouble

If you never heard the STREETRUNNER leaks. Here’s most of them on a YouTube playlist. They’ve ended up on random mixtapes n shit, and STREETRUNNER released mastered versions like 5 years ago. A lot of introspection in them joints

I had absolutely never heard of this, or any of the STREETRUNNER leaks. Thank you for sharing the playlist and the track, this is awesome. That song very much reminds me of Dear Anne which is in my Top 3 for Wayne mixtape tracks. Maybe I just love Wayne on slower beats featuring a piano, idk.

Fly In off of The Carter 2 is my favorite Wayne track. I didn’t start listening to Wayne until The Carter 3, since I didn’t really get in to “modern” hip hop at all till ~2006. Something about it gets me.

Honorable mention to Let The Beat Build

EDIT: Wanted to add a mixtape track, since so much of the Wayne discography is from Mixtapes. We Takin Over off of Da Drought 3 goes hard. It kills me that it isn’t on Spotify since that is how I listen to music usually nowadays.

Used to love Let The Beat Build but I worked with a dude who constantly listened to that college project live version? and I burnt out on that beat sadly.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s kind of a cool video/remix but it was like every work day for a year

Haha, I had never seen that. It is kind of dope but after a year I would have been burned out too.
