There’s a search engine called Kagi and I’ve noticed Lemmy users trying to verbify it by using ‘kagis’ like people use ‘googles’ to mean they used a search engine to try to find some information.

Just stop. It’s dumb. Just say ‘I searched the Internet’ or something. ‘Kagis’ is not going to catch on. It’s not going to be a thing and it doesn’t need to be.

I love Kagi. If you want to war against Google, I think it’s effective to say you “googled” something, then show a screenshot of Kagi; Kleenexify google, water down the brand.

I actually started a Kagi trial this week. I really like it, virtually no slop that has spilled over everywhere else. I’m still trying to justify the pricetag, though.

I thought you wrote ‘felching’ at first and thought “well, that’s bold but since they get their results from other engines, quite appropriate.”

I don’t know, I feel like saying ‘kagis’ makes you streets ahead of the rest.

No, I’m not sure. Haven’t really paid attention to the username to be honest.

We really need a single word, given how often it comes up. I just use “search” pretty often, but it is ambiguous.
