A great example of what I liked and didn’t like about that show. It starts with a good joke and it’s hilarious, and then they push that joke for another 20 minutes into utter absurdity, and not the good kind.

Not a local, I assume, then? How cute.

It was only part of the problem, but still largely responsible for the tap-on-the-glass tourism that predated the pandemic and attracted an inordinate volume of mindless attention to various areas referenced in the show. Said visitors seemingly expecting their favorite skits to be reenacted or discovered impromptu for their entertainment.

That’s not even getting into how the extras were shafted overall. Many of the locals seen in the opening sequence soon found that the group they’d been led to believe were making something out of a personal love for the city & people in it was actually just another two-faced money grab at their own expense.

Fuck Portlandia, but specifically Fred Armisen. That man is a smeg tart on a hot day.

Fair point. Have you read about how Fred has apologized for all the controversy the show caused?

Aw, he made sure everyone can watch him say he’s sorry? How big of him. I wonder what those he mistreated feel now that he’s made everything all better.
