I wonder if you guys play your games on several Apple devices or if you just focus on Mac OR mobile gaming on iPhone/iPad. Or are you even playing primarily on Apple TV and use it as your gaming console?
Mainly mobile. Easy to hook up HDMI and controller at home and nice on the go play. Only problem is lack of non-gacha games and controller support missing on most titles.
Do you mean you are connecting your phone via HDMI to your TV?
Yup. Apple has an official adaptor but their are a ton of third-party ones. Works great with a PS4 controller.
You can even make some games use the controller like a mouse with accessibility options so some games that are touch only work (not the best though)
I never considered connecting my iPhone to my TV via HDMI. I really like this idea. I prefer my MacBook as my main gaming device and it also works great with the Stadia controller. I just wish more games would be available for the Mac. I hope the Gaming Porting Toolkit with the upcoming macOS will change that.
Game streaming is also a great option if you have a PC or console. Moonlight is a free to stream your PC to any mobile device.
It looks like Apple is trying to jump more into games with the Vision Pro coming out. Stadia was great, glad your controller is getting a second-life.
Apple might be forced to allow non-appstore apps which could make emulators more accessible. Most emulators have a lot of options for controls and display making them a nice option to replay classics and allowing a huge game library.
iPad Pro with ps5 controller.
MacPro5,1: 2x6c 3.46 96gb RAM and RX5700XT. OpenCore to run BigSur. Some steam games (sacrificed a few older ones due to no 32 bit support since leaving macOS Mojave) also GOG. WoW classic and retail. It’s also my Plex server, and it’s overkill by a large margin.
