Using the Samsung News app on my tablet now and it’s one endless clickbait article after another. Plus they inject ads onto the page too.

I know it might not be the apps fault if the source of the news is shit, but there doesn’t seem to be a great way of culling all the terrible sources. I can remove them individually but wondering if there is a better option. Something that takes advantage of the larger screen that a tablet has over a phone would be especially welcome.

What about using an RSS reader and retrieve the news from multiple sources of your choosing?

I use Pluma and Feeder. The latter is open source and on F-Droid. The former performs a little smoother for me though, and I tend to prefer it’s UI.

I’m willing to check it out. If yiu think of any other suggestions, post away.

          Thanks

Personally I use Inoreader and it works well for my needs, although I pay for the Supporter subscription to be ad-free for roughly $20/year.

Inkl is excellent but it isn’t free, but because it isn’t free you don’t get clickbait articles

I use Ground News. You can see coverage from multiple sources on the headlines, so you get a more complete picture.

    A FOSS lemmy app!

    Or use RSS/Atom feeds.
