I am looking forward to the blood bond rework. I feel like grinding out 5 days of successful extractions is not a great system right now. Losing the accolade is unfortunate, but because it is cosmetic only now it makes more sense.

What are your thoughts?

I know there is a lot drama around it but not sure about the full details.

So no blood bonds for individual missions and no weekly blood bonds, correct? What are they replacing those systems with or is it just removing systems that produce blood bonds?

Basically, you’ve got it right, they’re removing the 25 after 5 days in a row, and removing the per-game blood bond rewards (golden cash registers remain unchanged).

They’re doubling the weekly challenge rewards, so you can get 50 instead of 25 from weekly challenges (10 per blood bond reward step instead of 5 per).

I’m actually largely pro this change as well despite it being controversial. I think reducing the need for daily play is a good thing, in my mind, it’s better to be able to get 50 over a few sporadic days of play than requiring 1 game everyday for 5 days.

The “accolades” (post mission blood bonds) I’m kind of sad to see go, but I understand Crytek has blood bonds as a premium currency and wants more people to actually pay for the paid cosmetics.

More incentive to play the challenges I guess, I won’t miss the pressure to log in everyday.

In general I empathize with them as they have to balance the game around folks who play the 40+ hours a week, and this essentially caps the amount of blood bonds per week.

I agree. Also what you lose from the accolades you get back by not needing to spend to remove perks and clean weapons. Seems pretty balanced to me

I’m totally fine with it. Crytek has done a good job of releasing constant content to the game without a cost to the users, and for a much longer time than other games. I think the DLCs are sometimes overpriced, but that hasn’t stopped me from buying them when I really like them, or buying the mediocre ones in bulk when they go on sale, as I want to support the development how I can.

I’m saddened about the accolade, but hey with how my luck in hunt is going, I’m not losing much anyway. I’m happy about the dailies going, though. I’ve found out that I don’t have it in me to play Hunt every day until I win. I prefer to play in small doses every other day. Probably wont ever finish challenges or an event like that but I’m fine with it, I don’t like FOMO.

I never did the weekly challenge, I just got them passively from playing.

Am really going to miss that though, as i dislike challenges. For me the system will fold out like this:

    • Current: Play the game, earn blood bonds passively.
    • New: Do content you don’t like or pay money.

To add, I might be one of the 10 players that actually bought blood bonds lol.

I have bought plenty of the DLC, but never blood bonds. I do however finish the weekly challenges every week. Most of the time it happens passively and it will happen more with the ammo changes and people inevitably will end up bringing more posion/bleeding/fire ammo.

But I do think they need to add more challenges in general though. I’m sure they could think of stuff that wouldn’t change how people play but also encourage trying different things.
