    Not actually as surprising as you might believe though. Even newer military subs use Xbox controllers albeit on less crucial systems.

    They provide an easy to understand with minimal training way of controlling something complex.

    Sooo, let me get this straight… a submarine (owned by people who were incentivized to cut corners at every turn due to the profit principle) sank while offering tours to go look at the wreck of a ship that sank because it was owned by people who were incentivized to cut corners at every turn due to the profit principle.

    I’d barely trust a sub that’s being owned by the government,… never mind one owned by a money-grubbing capitalist.
