Title speaks for itself – BMW F850GSA or Triumph Tiger 900 GT Pro?

I went to a Triumph dealer last week to look at the Bonneville (I’ve been drawn to the mechanical intimacy of the classic naked bikes), but realized that what I really need is an ADV with good road capabilities.

I’m mostly planning on commuting to work (about 12km each way) and road trips, but I want something that can also be used for motocamping and traveling to our cabin in the mountains.

From what I gather, these two bikes are pretty similar and I’m trying to figure out their pros and cons before landing a decision. I’m also planning on test-driving both next week before making a purchase.

Maybe an owner can give you better advice, but considering they’re in the same category (midsized adv) just pick the one that looks the nicest. Every time you open the garage door you want to get excited.

In terms of reliability and performance, I think they’re almost the same. One might be more comfortable, depending on your height/weight/inseam.

You can’t really go wrong with either. I say just get whichever you prefer after the test rides. If they both feel similar, go with whichever is the best deal.
