      Their entire repair programme is designed to be as obtuse as possible whilst still allowing them to say they offer repair. It’s like the kid in school that spends so much time cheating on an exam that they could’ve just studied

    The company will now provide a “postrepair software tool” called System Configuration that will handle the process of verifying that repairs were done properly, calibrating and updating the firmware of any replaced components and pairing TouchID and FaceID sensors with the device’s Secure Enclave.

    It seems Apple is removing the human component from the process and replacing it with a checking tool.

    It still requires renting an absurdly over engineered tool kit with a temp hold on your credit card for the cost of replacement.
