To be fair, I think the solo play-throughs of BG1 and BG2 were my favourites ever. I’m not the type to slog through these kinds of things if it’s not enjoyable.

I’m not sure BG3 even has a solo achievement though.

Might be easier in BG3, you only have a party of 4 compared to 6.

    • Not only that but with how you can just pretend to be friends with everyone and have access to exploding barrels, you can easily resolve a ton of potential combat situations by just surrounding the NPCs with explosives, moving to a safe distance and tossing an Alchemist Fire in.

You can even carry them in your inventory if you’re strong enough to take them into combat you can’t avoid.

It will be harder in BG3. In BG1 and 2 the XP was split with the party. By playing solo your character would level faster and since solo plays basically always use spellcasters you gain access to higher level spells faster making many fights easier. Only the first few level in BG1 are a real pain. But that’s even true in a party. Also in BG1 and 2 you can reroll your stats until you have 18 in everything, which means multiclassing/dual-classing is much stronger.

In BG3 XP is fixed, doesn’t matter if you play solo or in a party of 4. So you will never outlevel your enemies and just stay 1/4 th the strength for the entire playthrough. The only thing BG3 has going for it, you can respecc at anypoint.

Wow, this is commitment. What are some good builds for solo play of BG1, 2 and 3?
