I’m pretty sure this is legal as Dump directed him to due so. Per the SCOTUS decision in Trump v United States, if Trump directs anyone to do a “job” within their “expertise” cannot be subpoena as it could be considered an “official act”

Also Dump will probably just pardon him as he, probably, recieved a cut of the money to his legal fund
