    If you used this to hold tectonic plates together, would it cause more or less earthquakes?

      Typically you would use nails instead of screws for frame construction to accommodate lateral stresses caused by movement. In this case, I think maybe a pile driver would be a better solution.

      Why not?

      It’s mostly a big desert so no land of great value is lost. And it has to be on land, doing this in the ocean would be impractical and crazy!
