Not really. In reality, you can’t wait until the perfect party or ideology comes up. And most of the time you yourself can’t start a better one suddenly too.
At that time, it is better to support the lesser evil and tell them that you support them because they’re the lesser evil. Support all lesser evil actvities and support evil-reduction steps. Of things go well, the evil will go down.
The real caveat here is that the party that you’re supporting should be lowest evil(atleast among the mainstream/major options). If not, you’re not going for lesser evil, but moderate evil. Because actual lesser evil party would’ve been the better option to support.
You do both.
You support the lesser evil and work with them to reduce the evil in them. Might be the formation of an offshoot party or promoting particular non-evil leaders or so.
